17 year old American, Cara King, was born with cycling being part of her family’s DNA. This state champ Pennsylvanian started racing BMX at 6 years old following in the footsteps of her older sister and father. She made an easy transition to road and track racing growing up near Valley Preferred Cycling Center Velodrome in Pennsylvania. 2020 is Cara’s last year as junior and will be focusing on criteriums and also looking to start gravel racing. Cara is currently a senior in High School after graduation she plans on pursuing cycling full time.
Cara was also selected to go to the United States Association of Blind Athletes Camp 2019, where she was paired with Rachel Weeks a visually and hearing-impaired athlete, to train together on a tandem to race on the velodrome. Cara’s downtime consists of hanging out with two Staffordshire mix rescue dogs, Chloe and Max, riding pump track, riding mountain bikes with her sister, binge watching favorite shows and spending time with her family. Cara has amazing support from her family and mentors like Team USA’s Mandy Marquardt.
