32 year old professional cyclist Tarah grew up in Ohio and found cycling after multiple running injuries in college.
She acquired a MS in statistics from Miami University and then joined the professional cycling ranks in 2017. She was a member of an American UCI team for 2 years and added numerous “best amateur” jerseys, on the US Pro Tour, to her resume. Also, for you virtual fans, Tarah races the “Zwift Premier League“ , the highest division in the eSports world.
But Tarah wanted to do more for the sport. Her desire led Tarah and her husband, Johnathan (professional racer), to Africa to coach the Rwandan Women’s and Junior National Team for a season.
Tarah transitioned to gravel last season and fell in love. She loves the long races where pacing and mental toughness are paramount. Johnathan and her daughter, Madeleine, pop up at random parts along to cheer her on and that’s a wonderful feeling. Her favorite race was nearly 9 hours, over 13,000 ft of steep climbing with some climbs so steep you absolutely had to walk them.
She will welcome baby #2 in May and then it’s back to racing. In the meantime, she is enjoying taking her daughter on rides with the bike trailer.
